The Cressington Engineered Natural Oak Oiled Click Lok is a 10mm engineered oak floor with a 1.2mm wear layer, designed for homes that want a natural wood look with a simple installation process. The oiled finish keeps the appearance closer to raw timber, while the engineered core helps reduce movement caused by changes in temperature and humidity. It’s also suitable for water-based underfloor heating, making it a flexible option across different spaces.

Each board is 165mm wide, offering a balanced plank size that works well in most rooms. It creates a consistent layout without feeling too busy or too minimal, making it easy to use in both modern and traditional interiors.

The surface is oiled, which enhances the natural grain and keeps the finish understated rather than heavily coated. This allows the character of the oak to come through more clearly and gives a more natural feel underfoot compared to lacquered alternatives.

This is mixed grade oak, so you’ll see knots, grain variation, and colour differences between boards. These natural features give the floor more character once installed, rather than a uniform or repeated look.

The 1.2mm solid oak wear layer allows for light sanding and refinishing if needed, although this is not typically required for 10 to 15 years in most homes. The 10mm thickness makes it a practical choice where floor height is limited, while the engineered construction helps maintain stability over time.

Installation is straightforward thanks to the Click Lok system, allowing boards to be clicked together rather than glued. This speeds up fitting while still giving a secure result. It’s typically installed as a floating floor over a 3mm underlay, which helps with insulation and sound reduction. When installing over water-based underfloor heating, a 4mm compressed rubber underlay is recommended, with a maximum surface temperature of 27°C. A tapping block and rubber mallet can be used to ensure a tight fit.

Because this is an oiled wood floor, the surface is not fully sealed. Spills should be wiped up promptly to avoid marking, and it’s not suitable for bathrooms or areas with standing water. The advantage is that any worn or scratched areas can be repaired locally by sanding and re-oiling, rather than refinishing the entire floor.

This is a fixed length product, so boards are supplied in set sizes rather than mixed lengths. Each pack may include starter boards to help you stagger the layout for a more natural finish, which helps break up repetition across the floor once laid.

When ordering, allow around 10% extra for wastage and cuts, plus an additional 5% to account for natural variation in grading.
