Handscraped Engineered Wood Flooring

Engineered wood is a great choice. It looks just like solid wood as its top layer is made from the exact same material, but is much more durable and stable than solid wood flooring.

Engineered wood is made from layers of timber that are compressed together under high intensity conditions. This creates a floorboard that is highly stable and versatile. This layering construction also allows the board to withstand changing heat and moisture conditions.

Heat and moisture causes wood to shrink or expand. With solid wood flooring, this causes the wood to warp and become permanently damaged. The layers in engineered wood, on the other hand, can shift against each other slightly. This means that the floorboard as a whole doesn’t change.

It makes engineered wood the perfect real wood flooring option for kitchens, conservatories or rooms with underfloor heating.

Handscraped Flooring

Handscraped engineered wood flooring is an increasingly popular choice as it creates a distressed and rustic look to the floor. Previously, handscraped flooring finish could only be created by manually treating the surface of the wood by hand, making it extremely labour intensive and therefore expensive.

Today, however, handscraped engineered wood flooring can be created much more easily and is much more affordable! Flooring 365 have built up relationships with manufacturers and suppliers over years, so we get to hear about warehouse clearance sales and offers first. It means that we can provide our customers with some of the cheapest engineered wood flooring online.

Handscraped engineered wood flooring is produced by sculpting the surface layer of the wood. This removes new growth and exposes the beautiful grain of the wood beneath. It works to emphasise the unique patterns, including knots, to produce a distressed, worn and well-loved appearance.

Oiled & Handscraped

Many of our handscraped engineered wood floors are also completed with an oiled finish. The oil soaks into the walnut or oak material and provides a durable and effective layer of protection. Unlike a lacquer finish, an oiled finish allows the texture of the wood to show through much more easily, highlighting the patterns to produce a stunning rustic effect.

Handscraped Engineered Wood Flooring

We have a huge variety of handscraped engineered wood floors that come in different thicknesses, board widths and colours. Handscraped is one of the best ways to create a cosy or rustic feel. It can even work in contemporary or minimalistic designs as a key feature of the room.
