The Hillingdon Engineered Natural Oak flooring offers a classic natural oak look, finished with oil to enhance the grain and bring out the wood’s natural character.

Each board measures 180mm (18cm) in width and 20mm in thickness, including a 6mm solid oak wear layer. This thicker wear layer allows the floor to be sanded and refinished up to five times, although this is typically not required for the first 10–15 years in most homes.

Engineered construction helps reduce movement caused by temperature and humidity changes, making it suitable for most rooms in the home, including conservatories. It is not suitable for bathrooms and is compatible with water-based underfloor heating.

  • Finish: Oiled, enhancing the natural grain. The surface is not fully resistant to spillages
  • Installation: Tongue and groove boards for glued installation
  • Grading: Mixed grade oak with natural knots and variation

Typically installed as a floating floor with an underlay to support insulation and sound reduction. A 4mm compressed rubber underlay is suitable for underfloor heating.

As this is an oiled finish, care should be taken with spillages. Starter boards may be included to help with layout.

Allow 10% extra for wastage and 5% for grading.

  • Each board has a 6mm layer of wood veneer that enables you to sand down and refinish the surface up to five times.
  • Engineered wood flooring like this is very resilient to temperature and humidity changes, making it suitable for most rooms, including conservatories. The only exception is the bathroom.
  • Each board is manufactured with a tongue and groove profile, so each board can simply be glued together.
  • This engineered oak is typically installed as a floating floor with a 5mm underlay on the subfloor, providing protection from dampness and serving as a sound barrier and insulator.
  • This product has a mixed grade, so it will contain some knots, which is typical for natural wood.
  • Please note, an oiled finish isn't impermeable and might not be ideal for spill-prone areas
  • Each pack may contain starter boards to allow you to stagger your layout.
  • Please keep in mind that the industry standard includes 10% for wastage and cut-offs, and 5% for visual grading. Make sure to factor this into your calculations when ordering.
