Description

The Milano Engineered Natural Oak Brushed and Oiled Click Lok flooring combines the classic beauty of natural oak with a textured brushed surface and an authentic oiled finish. Designed to showcase the character of real wood, it offers a warm and inviting appearance that works equally well in modern, traditional, and country-inspired interiors.

Each board measures 190mm wide, making it a wide plank flooring option that helps rooms feel larger and more open. The generous board width reduces the number of visible joins across the floor, allowing the natural grain patterns and colour variation of the oak to stand out more prominently. Supplied in mixed lengths, the boards create a varied and natural-looking installation once fitted.

The surface is finished using a combination of brushing and oiling. Brushing removes some of the softer grain from the oak, creating subtle texture and enhancing the visibility of the natural grain patterns. The oil finish penetrates the wood to enrich its natural tones and bring greater depth to the grain, creating a more authentic and organic appearance than heavily sealed finishes.

This is mixed grade oak, meaning natural knots, grain movement, and tonal variation form part of the floor’s appearance. These features add individuality and character to every board, ensuring the finished floor feels genuine and full of personality.

Manufactured using an engineered multi-layer construction, the flooring provides greater dimensional stability than traditional solid wood. This helps minimise movement caused by changes in temperature and humidity, making it suitable for conservatories and water-based underfloor heating systems. Bathrooms and other areas exposed to excessive moisture should still be avoided.

With a 14mm overall thickness and a 3mm solid oak wear layer, the floor offers a durable surface suitable for busy homes. The wear layer allows the flooring to be sanded and refinished up to two times during its lifespan, helping extend its life if signs of wear develop in future years. In most domestic environments, refinishing is unlikely to be necessary for the first decade or more.

Installation is made straightforward thanks to the Click Lok fitting system, which allows boards to click securely together without the need for gluing along every joint. The flooring is typically installed as a floating floor over a 3mm underlay, helping improve sound insulation, heat retention, and protection against minor subfloor moisture. For installations over water-based underfloor heating, a 4mm compressed rubber underlay is recommended, with floor surface temperatures maintained below 27°C.

As this flooring features an oiled finish, the surface is not fully sealed against moisture. Spillages should therefore be wiped away promptly to help maintain the appearance of the wood and preserve the finish over time. One advantage of an oiled floor is that small scratches or worn areas can often be repaired locally without needing to refinish the entire floor.

The combination of wide planks, natural oak colouring, and an authentic oiled finish makes this flooring a great choice for homeowners seeking a floor with genuine character and long-lasting appeal.

When ordering, allow approximately 10% extra for cuts and wastage, plus an additional 5% for natural grading variation.
