180mm wide planks help create a spacious and characterful floor layout
Deep coffee oak tones add warmth and richness to the room
Distressed surface provides texture and an aged, timeworn appearance
20mm overall thickness offers a substantial and premium feel underfoot
6mm solid oak wear layer allows sanding and refinishing up to five times
Engineered construction improves stability in changing conditions
The Stockholm Engineered Antique Coffee Oak Distressed flooring combines rich coffee-brown tones with a heavily characterful distressed surface, creating a floor with a timeless, lived-in appearance. The darker colouring and textured finish work together to deliver a striking look that suits both traditional interiors and contemporary spaces seeking a touch of rustic charm.
Each board measures 180mm wide, offering a generous plank size that helps create a more open and flowing appearance across the room. The wider boards reduce the number of visible joins, allowing the distinctive colouring and natural grain patterns to take centre stage once installed.
The defining feature of this flooring is its distressed surface, which introduces texture and subtle imperfections that mimic the appearance of naturally aged timber. This finish helps emphasise the authentic character of the oak while adding depth and visual interest throughout the floor. The distressed detailing also helps make everyday marks and minor wear less noticeable over time.
This is mixed grade oak, meaning knots, grain movement, colour variation, and natural markings are all part of the floor’s appearance. These features work beautifully alongside the antique coffee tones, creating a floor with plenty of individuality and natural charm.
The flooring is manufactured using an engineered multi-layer construction, designed to provide greater stability than traditional solid wood flooring. This construction helps minimise movement caused by fluctuations in temperature and humidity, making the floor suitable for conservatories and water-based underfloor heating systems. Bathrooms and areas exposed to standing moisture should still be avoided.
With a substantial 20mm overall thickness and an impressive 6mm solid oak wear layer, this floor is built for long-term performance. The generous wear layer allows the surface to be sanded and refinished up to five times throughout its lifespan, providing exceptional longevity and the ability to refresh the floor when required.
Installation uses a tongue and groove fitting system, with boards designed to be glued together and typically installed as a floating floor. An underlay is normally fitted beneath the flooring to improve sound insulation, heat retention, and protection from minor subfloor moisture. For installations over water-based underfloor heating, a 4mm compressed rubber underlay is recommended, with floor surface temperatures maintained below 27°C.
The floor features an oiled appearance, which helps enhance the richness of the oak and accentuate the distressed detailing. As with many oiled finishes, the surface is not fully resistant to spillages, so any liquids should be wiped away promptly to help preserve the finish.
Each pack may include starter boards to assist with creating a naturally staggered installation pattern.
When ordering, allow approximately 10% extra for cuts and wastage, plus an additional 5% for natural grading variation.
The Stockholm Antique Coffee Oak Distressed stands out for its rich colouring and authentic aged appearance. The distressed texture gives the floor real personality, while the darker coffee tones create a warm and inviting atmosphere that works beautifully in both classic and contemporary interiors.
