150mm wide boards create a balanced and versatile floor layout

18mm solid oak construction provides excellent durability and a substantial feel underfoot
Mixed lengths create a natural and varied layout
Tongue and groove profile provides a secure fitting system for installation
The Twickenham Solid Smoked Grey Oak Brushed and Oiled flooring combines rich smoked colouring with contemporary grey tones, creating a characterful real wood floor with plenty of natural depth. The brushed surface and oiled finish enhance the oak grain, helping the individual markings and variations within the timber become a prominent part of the finished floor.
Each board measures 150mm wide and 18mm thick, providing a substantial solid wood construction with a reassuringly solid feel underfoot. The 150mm plank width offers a versatile appearance that works comfortably across both smaller rooms and larger open spaces.
The surface features a brushed and oiled finish. Brushing adds subtle texture to the oak and helps emphasise its natural grain patterns, while the oil enhances the depth of the smoked grey colouring without disguising the authentic character of the timber.
This is mixed grade oak, meaning knots, grain movement, and natural tonal variation can be expected throughout the floor. These features are characteristic of real oak and help ensure the finished installation has a naturally varied rather than completely uniform appearance.
As a solid oak floor, each board is manufactured from real timber throughout rather than using an engineered layered construction. The 18mm thickness provides excellent durability and gives the flooring the long-lasting qualities associated with traditional solid wood.
Installation uses a tongue and groove fitting system. The flooring would usually be bonded directly to the subfloor using a suitable adhesive, helping provide a flexible and stable fitted surface.
Boards are supplied in mixed lengths. Using different board lengths helps create a naturally staggered appearance and reduces repetition across the finished floor.
As this flooring has an oiled finish, the surface is not impermeable and may not be suitable for areas where frequent spillages are expected. Any spills should be dealt with promptly to help protect the timber.
The combination of smoked grey colouring, brushed texture, and substantial solid oak construction makes this flooring a strong choice for interiors where you want the authentic character of real wood with a darker, more contemporary appearance.
When ordering, allow approximately 10% extra for cuts and wastage, plus an additional 5% for natural grading variation.
The Twickenham Smoked Grey Oak Brushed and Oiled flooring combines the character of traditional solid oak with a more contemporary colour palette. The smoked grey tones add depth, while the brushed and oiled surface allows the natural grain and variation of the timber to remain an important part of the design.
Charlotte, our Product Expert, recommends the Twickenham because:
Smoked Grey Colouring: Creates a deeper and more contemporary oak appearance
Brushed Texture: Highlights the natural grain and character of the timber
18mm Solid Oak: Provides a substantial and durable real wood construction
Mixed Random Lengths: Creates a varied and natural-looking floor layout
