Engineered wood flooring, like any real wood product, will naturally change in tone as it ages. Depending on the species, finish, and amount of sunlight the floor receives, your engineered wood may either darken or lighten slightly over time. For example, UV oiled oak flooring may gently deepen in tone, enhancing its warm, natural look, while lighter woods may fade slightly when exposed to constant sunlight.
This process is a natural characteristic of timber and is often considered part of the charm of real wood. To help maintain a consistent tone across your room, we recommend occasionally moving rugs or furniture, using blinds or UV-protective window films, and opting for pre-finished products with UV-protective coatings.
