5MM VINYL LVT FLOORING FAQ'S
What Is 5mm Vinyl Plank Flooring?
5mm vinyl plank flooring is a versatile, durable, and cost-effective flooring solution that features planks of a 5mm thickness. Vinyl flooring (also known as LVT) offers the visual appeal of natural materials, such as wood or stone, while still providing the practical benefits of LVT. The visual appearance of LVT flooring is extremely convincing thanks to the printed design layer.
The design layer gives the flooring its desired appearance using high-resolution printing techniques and offers a wide range of aesthetic options. So, whether you’re looking at hardwood, stone, or tiled floors, you could consider luxury vinyl tiles as a replacement.
Vinyl flooring isn’t all about appearance though as it’s an extremely practical option too. There are multiple layers to LVT flooring and each one has been designed for a specific purpose. The end result is a hard-wearing synthetic floor that is water-resistant and easy to install. Our 5mm vinyl collection even has underlay already incorporated, so you don’t have to worry about the cost of additional products or the time it takes to install them.
Does 5mm Vinyl Plank Flooring Scratch Easily?
Thick vinyl flooring such as our 5mm LVT is designed to be highly resistant to scratches. The thickness of the vinyl plank provides additional durability, making it less susceptible to damage from everyday wear and tear. However, it's important to note that while 5mm vinyl plank flooring is more scratch-resistant than thinner options, it may still be susceptible to scratches from sharp objects, pet claws, or heavy furniture being dragged across the surface.

Is 5mm Vinyl Plank Flooring Waterproof?
Yes, our entire LVT range is 100% waterproof whether you opt for 5mm vinyl or some of our thicker options, you can rest easy knowing your floor will not be damaged by spillages. The waterproof properties of our LVT floors also make them a great choice in bathrooms.
How Long Does 5mm Vinyl Plank Flooring Need To Acclimatise?
As with all our LVT floors, we advise a minimum acclimation period of 24 hours. To achieve this, we recommend laying the flooring flat on the floor of the designated room. This duration ensures enough time for your 5mm vinyl flooring to effectively adjust to the temperature and humidity conditions of your home, guaranteeing optimal performance and longevity.
