The Hillingdon Engineered Grey Limed Oak Brushed and Oiled flooring combines deep grey oak tones with a limed finish that enhances the natural texture of the wood grain. The result is a contemporary floor with plenty of depth and character, while still showcasing the beauty of real oak.
Each board measures 150mm wide, creating a balanced floor layout that suits both traditional and modern interiors. The plank width allows the natural grain patterns and limed detailing to stand out while maintaining a classic wood floor appearance.
The surface is finished using a combination of brushing and oiling. Brushing removes some of the softer grain from the oak, creating a lightly textured surface that highlights the wood's natural grain. In most domestic homes, refinishing is unlikely to be required for many years.
Installation uses a tongue and groove fitting system, with boards designed to be glued together and typically installed as a floating floor. A suitable underlay should be fitted beneath the flooring to help improve sound insulation, heat retention, and protection against minor subfloor moisture. For installations over water-based underfloor heating, a 4mm compressed rubber underlay is recommended.
Boards are supplied in mixed lengths, helping to create a more natural and varied floor layout throughout the room.
As this flooring features an oiled finish, the surface is not completely impermeable and may not be the best choice for areas where spillages are common. However, the finish beautifully enhances the natural grain and texture of the oak while preserving its authentic appearance.
